Funds Transfer Instruction
As a trusted banking partner we are committed to providing our customers with the necessary information and security to confidently transact business. As of now, you can choose to transfer your funds through Citibank Online, Citi Mobile or Citiphone banking.
What’s more, we have increased the limit for your daily online transfer request to USD 10,000,000 (or equivalent). Contact your Relationship Manager or Citiphone to find out more.
How to transfer money by channel?
You can initiate transfer funds via Citibank Online up to USD 10,000,000 daily limit, except Citibank Global Transfers for which we have different limits. The following fund transfers are supported online:
- Transfer between your own accounts
- Transfer to another Citibank UAE account*
- Transfer to a local non-Citibank account*
- Instant transfer to a global Citibank account (Citibank Global Transfers)*
- Transfer to any non-Citibank account outside UAE
*You can add your destination account as a Payee on Citibank Online when executing the funds transfer. To register the payee or to perform an ad-hoc funds transfer you will need to enter the One Time Password (OTP) that will be sent by SMS to the registered mobile number.
You can also transfer funds via Citibank Mobile App where the following services are supported:
- Transfer between your own accounts
- Transfer to another Citibank UAE account*
- Transfer in local currency to a local non-Citibank account*
- Instant transfer to a global Citibank account (Citibank Global Transfers)*
- Transfers in foreign currency to an account in UAE or outside UAE*
*You will need to add your destination account as a Payee on Citibank Online before you execute the funds transfer.
Alternatively, for the following fund transfer options, you can also call our 24-hour CitiPhone Banking Service:
- Transfer funds between your own U.A.E. Citibank accounts
This option is available through Automated Voice Response system. You just need to call Citiphone Banking Service, choose your language and: - Insert your debit card number + 4 digit Telephone Personal Identification Number
- Choose Payments and transfers
- Follow the steps and you will receive a reference number as transfer confirmation. Transfer will be immediately done.
- Receive fund transfers requests in local or foreign currency to non-Citibank accounts up to a predefined limit. Fund transfer request will be sent for processing after all details have been provided.*
This option is only available through our Citiphone Banking agents.
*Prevailing exchange rates will be applicable for cross-currency transfers
How to transfer money by location?
For transactions less than PKR 100,000 favoring ALHABIB, ALLIED, UNITED, ISLAMI, NATIONAL Bank, please provide the below information to process the payment
- Beneficiary address
- Beneficiary contact number
- Beneficiary CNIC
- Purpose of payment
- Complete name of the beneficiary.
- Account number of the receiver/beneficiary
- Address of the beneficiary
The beneficiary phone number and purpose of payment should be mentioned.
- Beneficiary Account type
- Beneficiary Account number should not have any special characters
- IFSC Code of the Beneficiary Bank (If not readily available with you please get this information from the beneficiary. – IFSC code is mentioned in the left bottom of the check book of the beneficiary holding the bank A/C where you need to remit the funds)
- Complete address of the beneficiary bank
- If funds are favoring NRE account mention NRE account and IFSC code in the details of payment field
- Fund transfers placed from Monday to Thursday, before 2:30 PM UAE time, will be processed the same day, subject to all details being correct.
IBAN (International Bank Identification Number) of the beneficiary should be mentioned.

- CNY payments to individuals require special processing due to in-country regulations, which could delay delivery to the beneficiary as long as 7-10 days. Payments volume in these currencies may be subject to review. Cross border CNY is regulated, and Beneficiary may need to provide additional documents before settlement. For payments to individuals the beneficiary bank must be located in Mainland China.
- It is recommended that clients advise the beneficiary to proactively contact their bank to ensure relevant registration / documentation requirements are completed for delivery of funds.

You may receive a call to confirm the transactions and its details if the instructions are sent to the Branches or Financial Centers through messengers. The remittance may not be executed unless the callback to you is completed
- Please ensure that your local and overseas contact numbers are updated, for the bank to be able to reach you if required. Attempts will be made to reach you only on the numbers on our records.
- Citibank shall not be liable for any act or omission of any correspondent or paying bank or for any error or delay in transmission.
- Please note the fund transfers will be rejected by the beneficiary bank if any of the Required Information is missing or incomplete.
- Citibank will not be responsible for any late charges, interest claims and/or any other losses or damages (including, but not limited to direct, indirect or consequential damages/losses) you may suffer as result of beneficiary bank not processing any wire instructions.
- Prevailing exchange rates at the time of processing will be applicable.
- A fee per transfer will be debited along with the transaction amount, as mentioned in the Schedule of Charges.
- You may be unable to obtain full value pursuant to a telegraphic transfer on account of exchange or other restrictions applicable in the country of payment or country of issue or due to the paying bank or charges and fees of the paying bank.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE U.S.GOVERNMENT HAS IN PLACE SANCTIONS AGAINST CERTAIN COUNTRIES, RELATED ENTITIES AND INDIVIDUALS. UNDER THESE SANCTIONS CITIBANK N.A.
