Turn big payments into big rewards

The new Citi PayAll feature gives cardholders plenty of opportunities to earn big rewards and simplify their scheduled payments.

All credit cards are not equal. Some offer more monetary value and attractive rewards than others, while in some cases they can become a challenge for certain cardholders who are unable to manage risks and responsibilities.

With the right tools (and a bit of discipline), credit cards can actually become a great tool to smartly manage recurring expenses. As the digital banking landscape evolves, practical solutions continue to emerge, which are designed to help cardholders get more organized about paying their bills and taking advantage of credit card benefits.

One stop payment shop

A relatively new solution that is getting a lot of attention lately in the UAE is Citi PayAll – a feature that enables Citi credit cardholders to use their cards to make big-ticket payments; such as rent, education, property maintenance fees, travel packages or events, and turn these transactions into big rewards.

In the UAE, these type of large expenses are usually paid for with post-dated cheques or debit cards. The Citi PayAll feature gives cardholders the ability to make larger payments, free up cash flow and maximize rewards, getting them one step closer to five-star luxury or that long-awaited shopping spree.

How it works

Accessible through the Citi Mobile® App, Citi PayAll offers cardholders a simple way to keep tabs on expenses, while providing plenty of opportunities to earn reward points, miles or cashback on each payment made. In order to use this payment solution, you will need to have a valid Citi Credit Card.

Let’s say you want to use this feature to pay your children’s school fees on the app. This can easily be done by following a few simple steps:

  1. Schedule the payment as a one-time or recurring transaction that would reflect on your credit card statement.
  2. Make note of the type of payment (in this case you would enter “school fees”, as well as recipient information (this can be an organization, company or individual).
  3. Before the payment is made, you will be able to see the reward that will be earned and the small fee that applies on each transaction.
  4. The last step involves reviewing all details and confirming the payment.

What’s great about this feature is the added convenience that comes with it. You can have peace of mind as Citi PayAll allows you to stay informed and in full control at all times as the feature notifies you each time a payment has been successfully set up or processed.

Keep in mind

When scheduling a payment, cardholders should plan well in advance as it can take up to seven working days for the transfer to be completed from the date you set up the PayAll transaction. In addition, there is a cap on the amount of transaction via Citi PayAll. You may only transfer up to 95% of your available Citi Credit Card limit or AED 150,000, whichever is lower. Transactions can be labelled as recurring payments for up to 24 months, thus reducing the risk of missing a payment or exceeding credit limits.

It’s important to note that a small fee will be charged on every Citi PayAll transaction, which will vary depending on the amount in question. The fee is displayed as soon as the transaction amount and recipient details are entered into the app. The big rewards earned through using Citi PayAll however, makes it entirely worthwhile.
