Romero Britto, painter, sculptor and founder of the Happy Art Movement, is one of the most successful visual artists in the world. Born in Brazil and made in Miami, he has created a unique visual language of love, hope and happiness that transcends culture barriers, inspiring millions of people across the globe.

Inspired by an optimistic view of the world, Britto creates compelling art that is vibrant, bold, colourful, and perhaps most importantly, relatable. Consequently, his work has been exhibited in the best galleries and museums in over 100 countries, including at the Carrousel du Louvre in France.

Beyond traditional galleries and museums, Romero also creates private and public art installations for key events and landmarks, notable of which include the largest monumental sculpture in London’s Hyde Park history, and the opening of the Super Bowl XLI in collaboration with Cirque Du Soleil. Though bitten by the creativity bug, Romero Britto is still very much in touch with his environment. He is a firm believer in the role of an artist as an agent of positive change and thus lends his voice and influence to social issues. He is an activist for charitable organizations and has donated his time, resources and art to over 250 of such organizations worldwide. In addition, Romero was a selected speaker for the arts at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Britto is also an Inaugural Founding Benefactor of the Harvard International Negotiation Program and holds a seat on several boards including Best Buddies International, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and HRH the Prince of Wales’ charity, The Prince’s Trust USA.

Happy Art Movement

Since his early days of painting on scraps of paper, cardboard and any other mediums he could lay his hands on, Romero Britto’s mission has been to share love, happiness and optimism through his unique art and colors. With this in mind, he founded the Happy Art Movement which has transcended the art world and is now a lifestyle movement. Through this Movement, Romero sees and captures the beauty and happiness in seemingly mundane things and experiences, hoping to inspire others to do the same. Unsurprisingly, he can often be seen wearing glasses with brightly-coloured frames, no doubt signalling the way he views the world.
