How to pay with Google Pay by adding your
Citi Mastercard Credit Card to Google WalletTM?

Adding your Citi Mastercard Credit Card to Google Wallet is simple.

  1. Open the Google Wallet app or download it on Google Play.
  2. Tap ‘Add to Wallet’ and follow the instructions.
  3. Take a picture of your card or enter the card details.
  4. Verify your card if needed. Then you’re all set! 
  5. Once verified your Citi Credit Card is ready to use for Google Pay.

How to pay using Google Pay?

You can use Google Pay to pay for your purchases made in-store or on apps or while shopping on websites online.

Paying with Google Pay in-store.

1. Unlock

Simply unlock your phone.

2. Pay

Hold your phone over the contactless terminal.

3. Done

A tick mark with a soft tone or vibration indicates that your payment is completed.

Paying with Google Pay on apps and websites.

  1. At checkout, tap the Google Pay button.
  2. If asked, choose a payment method and enter your shipping address.
  3. Confirm your order and done.

Google Pay is an easy, secure and fast mobile contactless payment solution that enables customers to make purchases using eligible Android devices at Near Field Communication (NFC) compatible Point of Sale (POS) terminals in stores, in apps, and on the web. Google Pay can be used everywhere contactless payments are accepted.

You can use Google Pay for In-stores payments where NFC payments are accepted. Google Pay is accepted anywhere you see either of these symbols at checkout:

You can also use Google Pay for payments in participating in-app merchants and on participating websites whenever you see the Buy with Google Pay button:

Google Pay works on any Android™ devices running Android Lollipop 5.0 or higher.

For in-store payments, the devices will need to have Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities and Host Card Emulation (HCE) functions. You can make in-app or online payment even if your device does not have NFC capabilities.

All Citi Mastercard Credit Cards, issued by Citibank UAE are eligible for use on Google Pay.

Please reach out to the Citiphone team at +971 4 311 4000 to have your Citi Visa Credit Card converted to a Citi Mastercard variant. You can then add the new Citi Mastercard Credit Card into Google Pay.
