Your card details may be automatically updated with some service providers or merchants but we nonetheless urge you to contact them independently and/or verify that your new card details have been updated to avoid any loss to service.
An Automatic Billing Updater is a service for merchants that ensures ease of account-on-file transactions and automated payments. Participating merchants can use this service to restore changes such as new debit or Credit Card numbers, and so on in a cardholder’s.
MDES or Mastercard Digital Enablement Service is a service that ensures secure and seamless payments. It allows merchants to convert card information saved on file by consumers into “tokens”. The encrypted data is then used to facilitate secure transactions.
Yes, your Credit Card details may get updated automatically with some merchants and service providers. However, to avoid any loss to service, it would be ideal to contact the merchants and service providers independently to verify the new card details.
If you do not update your Credit Card information, automatic payments associated with the card will fail. You may also be charged late fees by merchants. Furthermore, any services that you have subscribed to by using your Credit Card may get cancelled too.
Missing the minimum payment due in any month and/or non-adherence to the bank’s Terms and Conditions may subject you to negative consequences and limit your ability to access further financing in the future, including but not limited to, late fee charges, a negative impact on your credit bureau rating, your card account going into arrears and/or collections measures which may include legal action and/or trigger all monies becoming due immediately. If you only make the minimum payment each month, you will pay more in interest and it will take you longer to pay off your outstanding balance.
